They fight Chara for a while, but during the fight, the DT extractor finishes the process of draining Frisk's DT. The two soon arrive in the true lab to find Frisk in the DT extractor. Later on, he teleports back to Snowdin's forest.įollowing this, Flowey informs Sans that Chara has captured Frisk and wants to steal Frisk's Determination for his evil purposes. Sans explains that resetting can cause adverse effects on the timeline to Frisk. When the episode begins, Sans is seen with Frisk at the Hotland and soon warns them not to reset. He promises his father that he will find a way to revive him without killing anyone. The picture is a poorly-done drawing of him and Gaster with a smear at the right with a taped message that said: "don't forget." He walks up to a drawer and pulls out a picture. Sans is seen entering his workshop and turns on the light. Sans then presses the RESET button again.Ī drawing, presumably by Sans, of him and Gaster Sans manages to destroy all of Gaster's hands, and afterward, Gaster attempts to kill Sans one more time, but he stabs him with some bones. Luckily, Frisk's soul did not allow Gaster to take it, and as Frisk's soul refuses, it rushes over to Sans, allowing him to take it and become stronger. Frisk willingly hands over their soul to him unfortunately, Gaster takes Frisk's soul instead and stabs Sans with a large black spike. To defeat Gaster, Sans informs Frisk to give him their soul. The two manage to leave the room however, Gaster (partly) materializes and becomes stronger. To escape, he uses a gaster blaster, killing a random pink butterfly in the process, to burst open the door. However, when Sans arrives at Grillby's, he realizes that something is wrong Frisk isn't with him.ĭuring Frisk's encounter with Gaster, Sans soon appears and attempts to teleport away from Gaster however, this fails. Sans decides to take them at Grillby's through a "short-cut" that he knows. When the episode starts, Frisk wakes Sans up. He "dunked" Chara (killed him by impaling him on a bone, then blasting him to dust) and pressed the reset button with the help of the Determination he gained from absorbing Frisk's soul. Sans quickly grabs their soul, causing him to get stronger. Before dying, they tell him to take their soul and fix their mistakes. They jump in front of him, saving his life. However, Frisk came in at just the right moment. Chara, not letting this opportunity go to waste, attempts to kill Sans. Eventually, he becomes too tired to keep fighting. Sans seems unable to defeat Chara, who avoids all of his attacks. Hate-filled Chara soon challenges Sans, and they start to fight. There he encounters Frisk, and the two fight numerous times, with Frisk dying frequently.Įventually, after Chara seals Frisk away when they attempt to reset, Chara enters the hall. In a genocide route, Sans appears at the start of the animation in the judgment hall. As a decisive battle broke out against Bête, Sans awakened to aid his family, eventually dying through his determination after protecting his brother and father. When Sans fell into a coma, Gaster tried reviving him using Determination, which both enhanced him and worsened his condition. To save Asriel, Sans sacrificed himself and had his SOUL consumed by Akumu.ĭuring a battle with Frisk, Bête resurrected Sans and infused him with HATE, driving him to attack his allies. While discovering mysterious occurrences revolving around a conflict against monsters, Sans and Asriel investigated, and learned about Bête Noire. Sans witnessed Frisk destroying the Reset button to keep the current timeline, and later he started looking forward to a future. After Flowey, who reverted back into Asriel Dreemurr, ended Chara's crusade, monsters were freed from the Underground. When Chara succeeded in obtaining control over the timeline, Sans teamed up with Flowey and Gaster to battle Chara, but they were unable to. These glitches allowed certain anomalies to occur, such as Sans gaining awareness of the past resets. However, since Sans reseted during a moment he was not supposed to, this created glitches across the timeline. However, when Frisk wanted to recompense for his actions, he gave Sans his human SOUL in the middle of the Battle at the Last Corridor, allowing him to reset the timeline. Throughout Frisk's journey, Sans was a comedic ally who often bantered with his friends, and in the conclusion of Frisk performing the Genocide Route, Sans brutally killed Frisk multiple times, since the child kept returning through SAVE. Sans was the older brother of Papyrus, the older son of W. all that 'i'm sorry' talk." ― Frisk and Sans that's cruel, y'know? making me believe i finally had.
